Charity event for Joshua Lancaster.
Let me tell you about a little boy called Joshua Lancaster.
Nothing can prepare for the utter heartbreak you feel when hearing that your child has terminal cancer. Cancer, at the age of three. This little boy had barely been in the world long enough to know what’s right and wrong and now he faced Cancer. They were rushed to Ward 84 at Manchester Children’s Hospital where little Joshua was diagnosed with Hepatocellular Carcinoma, a form of rare liver cancer. A disease that isn’t usually found until adolescence. Not only was it in his liver, but it had also spread to both kidneys. This had never been seen before, there have been no cases or reports of this in the world. How? This little boy was NEVER ill, up until 2 weeks before he was diagnosed he was as perfectly happy as any other boy. His battle didn’t last long, the disease was too aggressive and spread too fast to even give us a chance at fighting, 4 weeks later on the morning of 18th November this beautiful baby boy took his very last breath in his mummy and daddy’s arms whilst they sung lullabies and told him how much they loved him. He gained his angel wings, leaving behind a hole in their hearts that would never be filled.
the Joshua Lancaster Foundation was set up after 3 year old Joshua unfortunately lost his life at just age 3. His parents are now working endlessly to raise as much money as possible for patients with cancer and terminal illness and also the families affected. The money will be used to help Ward 84 at the Royal Manchester Children’s hospital, The Panda Unit at Salford Royal and Francis House.
On November 3rd 2018 I held a charity wax event raising just over £200 for this amazing charity. The event took place at the beacon center in Salford where two youth workers, Martyn and Danny and three amazing volunteers came together to show support for this charity.
Sam Mills, Craig Barnes and Dave Peacock all braved being waxed by myself I'm forever thankful to these three people for their help and commitment to this event
There will be more events for this charity to follow
