My name is Hannah and when I was nineteen I got an apprenticeship working towards my level 2 Business Administration qualification whilst working as an apprentice receptionist/ administration assistant for Integrated Youth Support Services based at The Beacon Centre in Salford.

While working towards my Business Administration qualification I am gaining valuable on the job experience in my role with the council. My assessor from Salford City College visits me at my workplace on a monthly basis to assess my competence in my job role and to give me assignments to complete for her next visit.

I applied for an apprenticeship because I want to be learning and working at the same time, as I want the business admin qualification but I also live on my own so I need to earn money to pay the bills. The role itself is really interesting. I’ve always wanted to do administration work and in this front-of-house role, I’ve been given an opportunity to learn lots of new skills that will help me to progress toward a senior administration role. I’m also enjoying interacting with a wide range of people on a daily basis, and importantly, am surrounded by a very supportive team, which has helped immensely.
